Devices / Browser / Geo Available (v1)
Break your visitors down by device, browser, operating system, and country — and see at a glance which segments convert well and which ones fall behind.
Where in the dashboard
Demographics — three panels (Devices · Browser/OS · Geo) plus a ranked breakdown per dimension. The period picker at the top covers 7, 30, and 90 days.
Key concept
Demographics is an aggregate across sessions, not tracking of individuals. A nightly rollup folds each day’s sessions into buckets per dimension; the dashboard then only sums over the window you pick. Eight dimensions are available:
- Device class, device model, browser, OS from the user agent
- Country and region from the geo derivation (below)
- Resolution (screen width × height) and traffic source
Per bucket you get sessions, conversion and bounce rate, the average frustration
score, and the average session duration. Conversion and bounce come from the
site’s primary funnel — without a primary funnel set, those columns stay
empty. Bots are excluded, rare values fold into an __other__ collector bucket,
and missing values into unknown.
A rule-based segment-gap engine additionally surfaces segments that convert noticeably worse than the weighted average of their dimension (at least 30 sessions, ≥ 20 % worse). Each gap comes with a one-click filter that carries exactly that segment forward.
Geo & privacy
Country and region are derived server-side from the full IP via a local,
offline MaxMind GeoLite2 database — the lookup happens at the very moment the IP
is then truncated to its /24 prefix. The raw IP is never stored. Granularity
deliberately stops at country + region (ISO-3166-2), never city or coordinates.
If no geo database is configured, country/region simply stay empty (unknown) —
everything else works unchanged.
