Highlights / Notes Available (v1)

Clip a key moment out of a recording, give it a title, and collect it with your team in one place — so the decisive part doesn’t get lost in hours of replay.

Where in the dashboard

Highlights — the gallery of every marked moment, filterable by reaction, page, author, and date range. Your Collections (thematic folders) live in the sidebar. You create a new highlight straight from the recording player: select a range on the timeline, title it, save.

Key concept

A highlight is a time range of a recording — a start and end point on the replay, plus a title and an optional reaction. No video is rendered: the detail drawer plays exactly that range as a range-scoped rrweb replay (seeks to start_ms, stops at end_ms). That keeps highlights lightweight and the text in the clip crisp.

  • Reactions — tag a clip with one of six categories (bug, ui_problem, confusion, frustration, success, conversion) to make moments easy to find again.
  • Time-bound notes — comment on a clip at a specific millisecond. Mentioning a colleague with @ triggers a notification.
  • A pin protects the source — the moment you create a highlight, its source recording blob is pinned (up to 90 days from the recording date) so retention rotation won’t delete it and the clip stays playable. Delete the last highlight on a session (and with no active share link present) and the pin is released again.

Collections & sharing

Collections are folders: group highlights by theme (e.g. “Checkout bugs”), reorder them by drag-and-drop, share them across the workspace. A highlight can sit in several collections; deleting a collection removes only the grouping, never the highlights themselves.

“Sharing” in v1 means team-internal: notes, reactions, and collections are visible to everyone in the workspace. On top of that you can export the clip as a GIF (rendered client-side) or deep-link back to the source recording. Public highlight share links arrive in v1.1.
