Team & Sharing Available (v1)

Share a recording or heatmap by link — even with people who have no Visz account — and bring your team on board with clear roles.

Where in the dashboard

  • Team membersSettings → Team: invite members, change roles, view pending invitations, and an activity feed of recent team actions.
  • Share button — right in the recording player and the heatmap view: it creates a read-only link to the current subject.

Key concept

A share link shows exactly one subject (a recording or a heatmap), read-only, via an unguessable token — the recipient needs no account. When you create one, you can set two options:

  • Password (optional) — if set, the recipient enters it once; Visz then returns a short-lived, stateless grant that unlocks the link. Password attempts are strictly rate-limited per link.
  • Expiry (optional) — with nothing specified, a link expires after roughly 30 days. An expired link returns nothing.

The link is deliberately data-minimal: it never carries workspace, site, or password data and opens only that one shared subject — no neighbouring sessions, no account data. Under Settings → Team (the share management view) you can see every active link and revoke any of them at any time; the original token is never shown again.

Roles in a workspace

Members hold one of four roles with ascending permissions:

  • Viewer — reads sessions, heatmaps, and reports.
  • Editor — additionally comments, tags, highlights, and creating / revoking share links.
  • Admin — additionally team management: invite, change roles, remove.
  • Owner — full access; a workspace always keeps at least one owner.

In v1 you can invite existing Visz accounts (by email); the invitation is accepted before any access begins. The owner role is not granted by invitation, and the last owner cannot be demoted or removed.
