Filtering & Segmentation Available (v1)
Narrow your data by device, traffic source, and behavior — and save the combinations you reach for again and again as reusable segments.
Where in the dashboard
The filter bar is global: it sits over Recordings, Heatmaps, and Funnels, and the same segment applies across all three. You manage saved segments under Segments (main navigation).
Key concept
A filter is a set of selectors — never visitor PII, only dimensions like device or source. Dimensions combine like this:
- AND across dimensions — device and traffic source and behavior all apply at once.
- OR within a dimension — a multi-select inside one dimension is an or-set
(
Country: DE, FR= DE or FR). - Up to 10 active dimensions at a time — beyond that Visz rejects the filter rather than building an unreadable query.
Filterable dimensions include device, browser, OS, country, language, traffic source, referrer, UTM campaign/source/medium, landing and exit page, new vs. returning visitors, conversion status, session duration, page count, the seven frustration signals (plus frustration score), tags, and fired custom events.
Segments & presets
Save any filter as a named segment — it applies project-wide for the whole team, not just you, and can be pinned for quick access. On top of that, two time-savers:
- Presets — ready-made 1-click filters: Frustrated users, High-intent, Mobile only, Bouncers.
- Suggested segments — a rule-based engine looks at the last 30 days and proposes segments worth saving; ones you already saved aren’t offered twice.
The active filter lives in the URL — share the link and your teammate sees the exact same narrowed view.
